Procuring materials, processing orders, and issuing invoices… Even in small and medium-sized businesses, business processes are often so complex that employees can no longer manage without IT systems for resource planning or customer management, for example. However, maintaining these systems is usually time-consuming and expensive: When business processes change, code adjustments and, as a result, testing are required. At the Hannover Messe, two graduates of the University of Ulm are presenting an efficient solution: Based on research findings from the Institute for Databases and Information Systems, Anna Literova and Reiner Taglang have developed the ADAM (Applied Data-Aligned Modeling) modeling method. With the help of a cloud-based platform for process digitization, companies can create their own customized software with minimal effort. If processes change, the system can be adapted to the new requirements even without external support.
