Members of the Association of Technology and Startup Centers in Baden-Württemberg and the Association of Technology Centers in Austria (VTÖ) met on September 6 in Dornbirn.
There was a lively discussion about the various funding opportunities and different approaches. It is evident that in Austria, rural areas are more heavily “dotted” with business incubators; at the same time, there are centers of excellence located near universities to promote cutting-edge technology. However, this also leads to capacity utilization issues. In Baden-Württemberg, the focus is on attractive regions that can support both university-based entrepreneurs and technologies and concepts that are not quite as advanced.
