Does the future belong to the real world or to the digital world? What challenges can we expect as a result of the digitization of business processes, production, and marketing—in other words, the entire business?

At the 6th IT Conference at Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences (HNU) on Thursday, November 12, 2015, IT providers and users, professors, staff members, and students will discuss the topic “Business: Digital or Real?” The conference begins at 9 a.m., and attendance is free.

Topics such as legally compliant IT operations, IT strategies for the globally connected age, information security and risk management, as well as Industry 4.0—the Internet of Things—are the focus of this year’s conference. In addition, there will be a series of presentations on the latest IT developments in the automotive industry. Presentations by Dr. Christian Wicenec of Paul Hartmann, Ulrich Schulze, a consultant on customs and foreign trade law, and Hans-Martin Münch of Mogwai IT Security Consulting will introduce the event’s key topics.

In addition to the presentations, numerous companies will be exhibiting in the HNU lobby to foster dialogue between industry and academia. The HNU’s centers of excellence, which focus on IT in business through teaching and research, are also inviting company representatives to discuss potential collaborations. New this year is a Segway obstacle course.

The conference is organized by HNU and Ulm University of Applied Sciences, the Ulm/Neu-Ulm Urban Development Association, and regional IT companies, with support from the Swabian and Ulm Chambers of Commerce and Industry (IHK) and the initiative “smart businessIT: Strengthening IT. Connecting the Region.”

The 6th Neu-Ulm/Ulm IT Congress begins on November 12, 2015, at 9 a.m. and ends around 6 p.m. Attendance is free and open to anyone interested.
