The establishment of CELEST, the Center for Electrochemical Energy Storage Ulm & Karlsruhe, by its partners—the University of Ulm, the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), and the Center for Solar Energy and Hydrogen Research Baden-Württemberg (ZSW)—was made possible by the POLiS Cluster of Excellence.
This recognized the outstanding and long-standing work of the University of Ulm, which had already led to the founding of the Helmholtz Institute in 2011.
