Yay, here we go again! Off on a big trip with bawükommt, this time to the startup ecosystems of Munich, Linz, Vienna, and Bratislava

Let’s start with Munich’s fantastic entrepreneurial scene. If we had 10 such centers with their output spread across Germany, we’d have more startups than the U.S.—that should be doable! The TFU is already getting started.
Linz, Tobacco Factory

A total of 83,000 square meters, currently 1,100 employees, next investment of EUR 110 million to expand to 3,000–4,000 employees. In Linz.

Strada del Startups: 600 EUR per month (4 memberships, 200 EUR for the space [at cost]; 2,400 EUR for corporations).
Complemented by a 3,500-square-meter makerspace in the Grand Garage.

The most important question regarding “spirit”: What can I contribute? (Not, what’s in it for me.)

In collaboration with a branch campus of the University of Linz, creative robotics projects.
The latest-generation devices come from partner manufacturers, “enablers,” and “are hacked immediately.” Community-focused, currently being built (e.g., amateur radio operators). Includes LoRaWAN, among others….
Generative Design, Education, etc.
10.4 million in private investment. Profit-oriented in the sense that the reward is the gain in knowledge.
