We are developing a cloud-based process digitization (PD) platform. Based on research findings from the Institute for Databases and Information Systems, we have developed the ADAM (Applied Data-Aligned Modeling) method using the latest web technologies, which enables SMEs to digitize their individual business processes on our platform. This makes it possible to implement process changes significantly faster and more cost-effectively than with standard off-the-shelf IT solutions (e.g., ERP).
We started out in the computer science students’ study areas at the University of Ulm. From there, we moved on to the chemistry students, then to the dental technology students—always in public study areas at the University of West. When university administrators asked us during a tour if we had an office there and pointed out the fire safety regulations, we realized we needed to find a space of our own.
Some acquaintances we met through the Ulm Chamber of Industry and Commerce’s startup community then suggested we reach out to TFU. There, we’ve connected with other startups and established companies that are in—or have been in—a similar situation to ours. The TFU team continues to support us today with various issues.
After a long struggle to secure EXIST funding from the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, we were successful thanks to a solid business plan. Now we can focus on further developing our platform. Our first development partner is providing us with tremendous support in this effort. He is helping us develop and test all the necessary components for our platform.
