STARTING A BUSINESS AND BUSINESS SUPPORT
The Initiative for Start-ups and Business Succession (ifex) of the Ministry of Finance and Economy has launched the statewide competition series “Elevator Pitch BW” as part of its start-up campaign. Twelve regional competitions are planned across the state leading up to the finals in July 2014.
Regional Cup on February 14 in Ulm
On February 14, 2014, the “Elevator Pitch BW – Regional Cup Ulm” will take place as part of the Ulm Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s (IHK Ulm) 2014 Startup Day. Local partners include the Ulm Startup Network (University, University of Applied Sciences, and the Ulm Chamber of Commerce and Industry) and the TFU, the startup and technology center for the Ulm/Neu-Ulm region.
Ten young entrepreneurs have the chance to convince a jury and the audience within three minutes with a concise presentation of their business idea—known as an “elevator pitch.”
The winner of this regional preliminary round will receive prize money of 500 euros and qualify for the state finals on July 3, 2014, in Karlsruhe. Up to 3,000 euros are up for grabs there. The business idea that places second will win 200 euros, and the one that places third will win 100 euros. In addition, the audience can vote to select a “People’s Choice” winner.
Applications are now being accepted!
Interested founders can apply at www.elevatorpitch-bw.de by February 7, 2014. The company must be no more than three years old and must be based in Baden-Württemberg. If the company has not yet been founded, the applicant must at least have a firm intention to do so.
Applications will be selected through an online vote on Facebook, Twitter, and Google+. The ten applicants with the most votes will be invited to participate in the elevator pitch at the Ulm Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK Ulm) as part of Startup Day on February 14 at 2:45 p.m.
