We attend the opening ceremony with a German delegation. Before us are the party’s leading figures.
They’ll be welcoming the guests one by one. It’s supposed to take 2 hours. I’ll check in again when we have a better idea of how long it will take.
In any case, the media turned out in force.
Now it’s official, and after just 30 minutes: It’s open!
People in Shenzhen are just efficient.
Afterward: A visit to the trade show, including a stop at the BIDA collaboration booth showcasing German-Chinese activities in Bao’an, a district of Shenzhen. Interesting conversations, including with Detlev “DJ” Jeske, head of Lufthansa Technik Shenzhen, and Klaus Zenkel, who also represents the European Chamber. Both have been in China for years.
Interview with CCTV, followed by lunch for the delegation. Next up is the Summit Forum on the region’s future development.
